Changing Lives one Bed at a time
Before CWB, our children had been sleeping on the floor with us. It was incredibly hard. As a parent, seeing your kids go without basic necessities — something as simple and essential as a bed — is heartbreaking.
Laying their clothes on the floor for them to sleep on was demoralizing. We were all crowded together in one room, and if one person woke up during the night, everyone was awake. That’s just how life was.
After seeing a news story about Children Without Beds, Corp, we reached out to see if we could get beds for our kids. The response was amazing — the process was simple, and the CWB team supported us all the way. The next week, we received two single beds with complete bedding sets, just in time for my daughter’s birthday. It was an unforgettable blessing for our family.
Research shows that a good night’s sleep is essential for a child’s physical, emotional, and cognitive growth. A proper bed is more than just furniture—it’s the foundation for a healthier, happier life. Sleep isn’t simply downtime; it plays a critical role in a child’s overall well-being.
About 2 in 10 children are affected by bed poverty, which can directly impact their rest. According to Dr. Mattke, medical editor of the Mayo Clinic Guide to Raising a Healthy Child and pediatrician at the Mayo Clinic Children’s Center, sleep deprivation can have serious effects: 20% of students show delayed social skills, 30% experience lower confidence, 38% face behavioral challenges, 40% struggle with concentration, and 50% feel sadness linked to depression.
Unfortunately, the importance of adequate sleep and children’s sleep needs is often overlooked, along with its connection to behavior, learning, and health.
2026 stats of how many beds we've delivered to date, families we helped, etc. now it's about 1,350 beds.
